In modern electrical system, power quality issue is become increasingly important due to the high business costs caused by downtime. In particular harmonics, generated by non-linear loads as computer, printers, fluorescent lamps, UPS, etc., cover a primary role within the causes of electrical perturbations.
GE Active Filter represents the state of the art in power electronic equipments, principally dedicated to UPS applications, for an effective current harmonic mitigation and power factor correction.
For the UPS families SG Series 400Vac CE and SitePro it is proposed in combination with the passive "5th harmonic filter" installed on the UPS side.
The result of this combination passive/active filters gives the best performance in terms of harmonics compensation and power factor correction, with a negligible effect on the total UPS system efficiency.
Active Filter can also be used as stand alone for any other power electronic equipment, provided that the load is symmetrical and not supplied by a IT power distribution system.
Features
- Fast Fourier Transform technology provides a selective and simultaneous harmonics compensation from 2nd to 25th harmonic order
- Sine wave current for a "clean" UPS input, with cost saving in electrical losses on mains distribution
- Power factor compensation allows cost saving by reducing electrical losses, and no penalty risk with Public Utilities thanks to the improved power factor
- High performance at partial load providing maximum application flexibility
- Compatible with GE Digital Energy UPS SG Series 400Vac CE and SitePro
- User Friendly Control Panel providing complete information on the spot
- Complete access from front side of the cabinet
- Wall mounted cabinet for easy installation and optimising floor space (only for Active Filter 30)
- Top or/and Bottom Cables entry for flexible installation
- Compact design, no external connections required
