Key Benefits
The C30, a member of the UR family of protection relays, is a digital controller that provides digital I/O and programmable logic that may be used as a stand alone device or as a component of an automated substation control system. The relay also includes digital elements that can be used to monitor any FlexLogic operand and digital counters that can count function operations, the change of state of an external contact, or pulses from a watt-hour meter. When more than one controller is connected through the Ethernet ports using MMS/UCA2 protocol, digital states may be shared on the peer-to-peer network and logic may be distributed, increasing the processing capability.
- Powerful FlexLogic programming for all substation automation requirements
- I/O capabilities far exceeding an average protection relay
- Expand inputs and outputs and add Direct I/O communications to other substation devices
- Cost effective and flexible access to information | Multiple communication options and protocols not found in industrial grade PLCs
- Use high speed communications to reduce wiring and installation costs | Exchange inputs and outputs between relays to achieve relay-to-relay interaction
- Reduce installation space requirements through compact design | Multifunction device that integrates protection and control functions, programmable pushbuttons and status LEDS, and communication interfaces
- Maintenance cost savings and simplification | Modular construction, common hardware, reduced stock of spare parts, plug & play modules
- Application flexibility | Multiple I/O options, programmable logic (FlexLogic), modularity, customize to specific requirements
- Reduce system event analyzing time and cost | Sequence of event reports, oscillography, datalogging, IRIG-B time synchronization
- Embedded IEC 61850 Protocol | No external protocol converter required
